'68-'69 Song/Flag/Majorette The extra sparkle the pep groups have helps build school pride and spirit in the teams. Cheerleaders added new and vibrant yells to Lakewood lists. The Song and Flag girls, along with the Majorettes, worked hard and earnestly to brighten up game times. Peppy and perky in their bright red and white uniforms, the Lancerettes were always present to back up the athletes. Under the expert leadership of Margerie York, these energetic girls devoted many hours to the spectacular half-time shows, assemblies, and pep rallies. The Lancerettes sparked the enthusiasm of Student Body and contributed to one of the best football seasons in Lakewood's history. The pep groups all gave something of themselves...a magical element called SPIRIT!
Lancerette Spirit is Hot '85-'86 Why was the spirit at Lakewood High School so "hot" this year? Much of the credit for the great upsurge in school pride and loyalty belonged to the pep squads. With their vivacious enthusiasm, unbridled talent and unbelievable agility, the members of both the varsity and JV yell squads, song girls, the majorette, as well as the flag girls combined their talents to provide the extra momentum necessary for the entire school. Hard at work year round, pep and yell leaders could be found full of smiles and always spirited. As they cheered each team to victory, their efforts proved to be well rewarded. Dedication and loads of practice resulted in unique and explosive routines. No one at LHS had more pep and spirit than the pepsters.
Pepsters Are Inspirational '86-'87 The enthusiasm of the pepsters could be seen at every athletic event, as well as rallies and special events, showing their support for Lakewood High. In addition to school function participation, their spectacular mounts, perfectly choreographed routines and stunning displays of agility took hours of rehearsal and thus their enthusiasm and dedication raised school spirit throughout the year.
