Some of What I Learned About Life I Learned in Cheerleading

Catch people carefully when they fall. Plan ahead. Anything can be fun-even conditioning Take risks, but have lots of spots. Complaining is contagious, so is enthusiasm. Most people are nothing like you thought they'd be. Perform well, even if you don't feel like it. Always thank your spotters when they cushion your fall. People change. Let them. Never wear sweat pants with a skirt. Most of what you hear about people is distorted. Concentrate during the game. Shake off little hurts. Carefully treat big ones. Never, for any reason, comment on any female's weight. Don't give up. Grades are important. People can be extremely cruel. Be on time! Enjoy today. It feels better to offer help, than to be asked for it. Even after a nasty defeat, you can still sing on the bus on the way home. Be the first to say, "It's my fault," even if it isn't. Family unity is hard work-but well worth the effort. Timing is always a key ingredient to any situation. Never be satisfied with curly or straight or long or short hair of any color. Don't fix your hair or adjust your briefs in front of an audience. Always precede constructive criticism with complaints. A good leader is a servant, not a tyrant. A smothered friend soon wilts. Be satisfied with the best YOU can be. If you have a problem with someone, talk to them first. Fall in love, get married, then get pregnant. Respect yourself.

61 Flag Grls
Do your push-ups, even if no one is watching. Even with the best spots, you sometimes fall. Always chek your speling. Don't let others down when they're depending on you. You WILL reap what you sow. This is true for good and for bad. Remember who helped you get where you are. Without bases, a flyer would never leave the ground. Be the first to forgive. That's a true sign of strength. A good fart can liven up any practice. Hard work pays off, but not always in the way you expect. People who lie will reap what they sow. Give people a chance. Fix them. Forgive them. Wipe the slate clean. Move on. If it happens again, give them another chance. Racial jokes and comments always divide. It is trendy to be anti-trendy. Good organization makes life easier. Hard work builds confidence. Self-discipline starts with the little things.
