Coach Stinson was a bruising, ALL-Conference linebacker and running back at Covina High School. At the conclusion of his high school career, Bruce went on to play linebacker at Mt. Sac College and Azusa Pacific. He later became the strength and conditioning coach at Los Alamitos High for seven years before arriving at Lakewood where he immediately made an imposing presence on campus with his stature and physique and has become an integral part of the Lancer football program. Coach Stinson's life-long motto is, "Winning Championships."
