Coach Riley is an All-American Los Alamitos High school graduate who continued his athletic career at USC from 1999 to 2003 as a three year starter and played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2003 and the Arena League's L.A. Avengers for two seasons. Coach Riley was previously a coach at Los Alamitos and managed an L.A. Fitness Club. Bernard resides in Long Beach, California.
